Hi everybody!
Yesterday at Stake Conference a choir of Young Men and Young Women sung the song, “Come Unto Jesus”. It was so touching, and I couldn’t help but reflect on the words and the scriptures in 3 Nephi 17.
1. Come unto Jesus, ye heavy laden,
Careworn and fainting, by sin oppressed.
He’ll safely guide you unto that haven
Where all who trust him may rest.
2. Come unto Jesus; He’ll ever heed you,
Though in the darkness you’ve gone astray.
His love will find you and gently lead you
From darkest night into day.
3. Come unto Jesus; He’ll surely hear you,
If you in meekness plead for his love.
Oh, know you not that angels are near you
From brightest mansions above?
4. Come unto Jesus from ev’ry nation,
From ev’ry land and isle of the sea.
Unto the high and lowly in station,
Ever he calls, “Come to me
3 Nephi 17:5-6
5 And it came to pass that when Jesus had thus spoken, he cast his eyes round about again on the multitude, and beheld they were in tears, and did look steadfastly upon him as if they would ask him to tarry a little longer with them.
6 And he said unto them: Behold, my bowels are filled with compassion towards you.
7 Have ye any that are sick among you? Bring them hither. Have ye any that are lame, or blind, or halt, or maimed, or leprous, or that are withered, or that are deaf, or that are afflicted in any manner? Bring them hither and I will heal them, for I have compassion upon you; my bowels are filled with mercy.
Jesus Christ invites everyone to come unto Him no matter what our afflictions may be. We can trust in Him, feel His love, and He will guide us to the brighter morning.
I’ve had the incredible opportunity of helping the people of TaoYuan (桃園) come closer to Jesus Christ.
This week, our friend Zhang JM accepted an invitation to be baptized. She came to find us after life wasn’t working out how she imagined. She knew Jesus could help her find the peace she was looking for, and I’m grateful to have been help her understand the teachings of Jesus.

We met with our friend Dolly twice! She is progressing so fast towards baptism, but this week told us that her dad strongly opposes her baptism. However, instead of letting this discourage her, she has decided to rely and trust in Jesus even more! I absolutely love her!!
We also met with our friend Lin JM. Now life dealt her a really bad hand. When we first met with her, she wouldn’t look us in the eye, and no matter what we said she would never smile. Well, about a month later, she is reading the scriptures and praying every day and meeting with us as much as she can! I have seen this woman change. She quit smoking completely 4 days after we taught her the Word of Wisdom and you can now see the self-confidence that shines from her eyes and smile. Jesus really can heal broken souls.
One other miracle I would like to share is some new friends we met with yesterday. We started talking to them at a stoplight, and they didn’t show much interest in the Gospel, but they really wanted to learn English from us. Problem was the didn’t have time Wednesday nights to come to our free English class, so a little reluctantly we set them up for the weekend for private English and decided we were gonna try and share some of the Gospel anyways. Well it turns out this mom and son moved here from Vietnam. The mom came to Taiwan 10 years ago and the son came 4 months ago. Wow they are humble. After teaching them the alphabet they started asking questions about why we’re here in Taiwan. The conversation progressed and we ended up teaching them the Restoration. When we pulled out the Book of Mormon we learned that she couldn’t read Chinese characters. The chapel didn’t have any Vietnamese Book of Mormons, so we helped her download the Gospel Library App. When she saw the name of the Book of Mormon, her eyes lit up! Years ago a friend in Vietnam tried to get her to meet with the missionaries. She felt she was too busy then, but always regretted that decision. Well, many years later, God gave her another chance. She asked 2 questions at the end of the lesson. 1) When can I join the church? 2) Can I bring my husband next time to listen too? I had to ask her to repeat the questions because I was afraid I didn’t understand. But I understood correctly, and I was shocked! We are so excited to help them as a family come unto Christ!
Well in other news, my time as a trainer and in a trio has come to a close yet again. On Thursday I will be moving even more into the city. I will be headed to TaiPei (台北), more specifically to YongHe (永和) where I will be serving as a Sister Training Leader with Sister Mayuyo! She is from the Philippines!
Funny things that happened this week:
1. Taught a lesson about Daniel and the Lion’s Den to some kids. I basically summed it up and said we have to pray so God can protect us from evil things like lions. When I asked them if they’d be willing to pray, one of them stuck their hands out wide looked up and said, “Come and eat me!” hahaha I’ll take that to mean he doesn’t really want to pray Haha
2. A member found out I had less than 6 months left on my mission, and she decided she needed to give me dating advice. She said when I go back I need to find a 珍珠 (pearl) not a 真豬 (real pig). They are said the exact same way in Chinese, so it was way funny!!!! Hahaha
Anyways, I hope you all have a great week!
I love you all so so so much!!!
